Today, out of nowhere, I was hit with a wave of sadness.

No clear trigger. No obvious reason. Just… heavy.

But here’s what I now know:
This wasn’t a step backwards—it was a response to expansion.

This week, I’ve been shedding old patterns, beliefs, and stepping into something so much bigger. And while that’s beautiful… it also scared my brain.
Sadness used to be my safety mechanism.
In the past, I’d have withdrawn. Shut down. Hidden away.

But not today.

Today, I witnessed it.
Named it.
Moved my body.
Took a walk.
Shifted the energy.
And reminded myself that growth isn’t always light and glitter—it’s also deep, emotional, and real.

I used to limit my success…

I work part-time, I run my own business, I’m studying for THREE certifications, and this weekend I’m co-hosting the most amazing wellbeing event!

Are you able to recognise your emotions for what they really are?

This morning I woke up tired.
That creeping doubt showed up too—those sneaky “what ifs,” the familiar whispers of old beliefs I know don’t serve me anymore.

But instead of spiralling, I stopped.

I looked at the thoughts, really looked.
And I realised—this happens every time I’m tired.
It’s not failure.
It’s not lack.
It’s not even fear.
It’s just tiredness, calling for rest.

How often do we mislabel our emotions?
How often do we give power to fear, doubt, or anxiety when really—we’re just human and in need of a moment to breathe?

What if you could see your doubts and worries for what they really are?
Acknowledge them.
Hold space for them.
And then… move through?

Cool, right?

In Human Design, doubt often lives in the Head Centre—that beautiful space where inspiration, questions, and pressure to make sense of things reside.
It’s not bad. It’s not wrong. It’s just mental pressure.
And for me, I have an undefined head centre which means it can be one area where I am disempowered! I am learning to recognise when that pressure is amplified by tiredness (and not truth) this has been a key part of my journey.

It’s all an unfolding.
A remembering.
A coming home to myself.

If you have been following me for a while you will know I crave time by the sea! I try to head to Cornwall as often as possible! I feel at peace by the water I love the sound of the waves!

Today I found a little piece of heaven not far from my home @thewave why have I never been here before!

It had everything I need the sounds of the waves, beautiful countryside surroundings and iced coffee it’s perfect!

It’s free to visit and observe in the bay with free parking too. I took my son and he’s keen to have surf lessons which they also do there.

Victim or Warrior?

It starts with a choice.

And for many of us—especially in midlife—that choice doesn’t come gently.
It arrives in the ache.
In the unraveling.
In the “what the hell happened to me?”
In the quiet moments when the roles we’ve played no longer fit,
and the masks start to itch.

Midlife isn’t a crisis.
It’s a summoning.

To choose again.
To peel back the layers of old conditioning,
limiting beliefs, inherited patterns…
and decide if we’re going to keep living by someone else’s story.

It’s messy.
It’s not always graceful.
But it’s sacred work.

The victim says: “This is just how it is.”
The warrior whispers: “There’s more.”

Not the warrior who fights to prove…
but the one who softens to remember.
Who reclaims her power not with force—but with truth.
With soul.
With presence.

Overwhelming and anxiety in The Messy Midlife can be really debilitating and sometimes there is no reason!

When you feel anxious try this breathing technique….

The 4-7-8 Breath
This gentle pattern helps soothe the nervous system and bring you back into your body.
• Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
• Hold the breath for 7 seconds
• Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds
• Repeat 4–6 rounds

Focus purely on your breath.
As you breathe, remind yourself:
“I am safe. I am grounded. I am supported.”
